Adaobi Kanu & Lucy Edwards (both recent graduates in the class of ’08) will be performing in the Philadelphia Fringe Festival Sunday, August 31, (6pm &8pm), Friday, September 12, (7pm & 9pm), and Sunday, September 14th, (5pm & 8pm). All performances will be at the First Unitarian Church of Philadelphia (2125 Chestnut Street).
The show is entitled Together We Rise and this piece explores domestic violence from the collected narratives of things both witnessed and experienced. Five women will use dance to tell stories they have kept silent for so many years, speaking out to their experience while bringing hope and healing to others.
This is a show made by women for women, and the people who love them. They’ll guide you through their world and together we will create a new beginning.
Tickets are available at http://www.phillyfringe.com. Ushers are needed, so please let Paige know if you are interested in potentially volunteering to usher for Adaobi and Lucy!
